Crafting, Fletching, Thieving,Herblore & Woodcut Tips

These tips have been submitted by players to help protect others from scammers in RuneScape.
  • Dathsaker - not many people realise it, but woodcutting is one of the quickest and easiest ways of making money. if your woodcutting is 60, good, if not, get it up quick! cuting yews takes a while but in about 4 or so hours you can sell 1000 of them for 250-300k to people. do this until you get your woodcutting up to 75. cutting magics, as i have found, is slow, but easy money, in just over an hour i make 100k from selling 100 of them
  • Helix - Heres a tip on thieving. If you have a thieving level of 25 or over and want to level it up fast, then steal from the bakers stall untill you have all but one space filled in your inventory. After that, head Southwest and you'll find some warrior women, then just keep on thieving and thieving untill you run out of food. Then repeat, repeat, repeat!!!
  • Robbie Henderson - Hey Sal. Great site i use it all the time. You have probably heard my tip b4 but Im gonna submit it anyway. To get crafting exp. just get to lvl 10 and then make bowstrings. it gives you tons of experience. Sals site rules!
  • Sombrero21 - Hi to all my fellow loggers out there, by the way great site Sal.Anyways, woodcutting is a great money-making skill. If u want unmarked yews, the best place is in the southeast corner of Gnomestronghold. The great thing is that there is a bank very close just west of the unmarked yews(you have to go a little north, then west). Happy tree cutting, Sombrero
    • i just wna say tht this is the best runescape site ever! anyways, a good way to make about 0.5mil a day is to get ur woodcutting to 70 or 75 and cut yews and sell them to fletchers for 300gp each. the fastest way to gain xp is to cut oaks till lvl 75 (willows till 99). if u wna make even more $money$ then get ur rune crafting to 44, ur fletching to 85 and ur woodcutting to 85. it will take 2 or more months but wen ur done, every day u will get aroung 4 mil! it really works! c ya sal cheers, sombrero
  • SquatDog - this is not very essential thing to know, its just a trivia. If you use like 1 potion of strength potion to 3 potion of strength potion, they become 4 (full) potion of strength potion.
  • Dairymanrick - Ok for all you big woodcutters out there and some new ones also if youre just in need of money raise your woodcutting to a decent level. My woodcutting is 68 and im lvl 44 (my name on rs is really dairymanrick so you can see on highscores) But woodcutting has helped me earn enough for #1 buy a ammy of glory at lvl 37 #2 make me money and #3 help me enjoy the game better and here is what i sell logs for....
    Regular:15-20gp per log
    Oak:30-45gp per log
    Willow:50-75gp per log
    Maple:100-120gp per log
    Yew:300-350gp per log
And when I can get some magic logs I sell from 1000-1200gp per log
  • Darkforce596 - k this is a great way to make money i cut down about ne were from 1-3k yews a week. wat u do is sell 1k yews for about 350k then u make a huge profit so just a little time is alot of money. darkforce596 add me if u wanna buy yews. and i dont get y sal says he might wanna email me maybe if its bad i donno lol i hope he does sal this site rocks!!!!!!!!
  • Pnkpantha007 - Hey, yew-loggers! I was just walkin around when I saw a unmarked yew. I sat there for 30 min. and not 1 person came by. Maybe its because no serious players ever go by lumbridge castle..........behind Lumbridge castle there is a little brown spots on the map.About 3 yards NW of that area is a tree symbol on the map. Right where that tree symbol, there is an unmarked Yew. Since theres only 1, my advice is to switch worlds till your full, then go to Al kahirid or Draynor.
    • Hi, me again! just an update on my woodcutting tip, there are a LOT of unmarked yews behind Lumbridge castle.Great site Sal!
  • Some D00d - I've found a really fast way to get craftng XP and money is to turn flax to buwstrings, then sell. It takes about 5 minutes to make 28 bowstrings. If you have a rich archer friend, sell them to him/her. They go for 100 gold each, to the right people.
  • Me's - If you want to become a skilled crafter, and have medium mining capabilities, and 20 smithing, then make leather ONLY until level 16. At level 16 mine silver in Al-Kharid digsite (there are 5 ore deposits), and you can bring silver ore to furnace. Smelt them, improves your smithing more than iron! Buy a holy symbol mold at crafting guild, and use it at furnace with silver bars. You gain 50 experience for each bar! You can sell them at a general store, or string and bless them at monastery if you are prayer 31. Blessed sell for 200 each. You improve mining, smithing, crafting, and make some money! This is a great way to craft!
  • Dagibit - As a young player, me, and many many others decided we would find our fortunes in woodcutting- simply chopping and selling seemed so simple and easy! Well, it really requires serious commitment, and the knowledge below. Unless u plan 2 end up being a master Fletcher or something u may want to rethink ure profession.
  • Jimbo248 - A good way to get both combat and crafting up if you are not a member and have a low level is to kill cows, take the hides and craft leather.
  • AnnonimousRunescaper - Ok for those who are into the runescape jewelry business. there's a little spot on the north west part of brimhaven. It is by far the best spot to mine for gold, there are 10 gold rocks to mine from. And a gold ore respawnes in the middle of them.
  • Dagibit - Sup, all my fellow yew loggers!does ure favorite yew tree keep chopping down 2 quickly? R u always migrating long distances 2 look 4 a tree thats not in use? well this is the tip 4 u! Go all the way 2 rimgton where u will find a lttl g store. Almost directly behind it is a cluster of 4 unmarked yews! careful-only let skilled yewers in on this secret!
  • Vince Hahn - Faster Crafting Level: Instead of going after gold, although gold items give higher experience points to your crafting skills, I found it best to make leather items. Although less exp points get awarded per, eventually it becomes faster simply because all the things you need are right near each other. You can buy shears for 1gp at the general store, you can find a needle in one of the hay piles nearby, you can buy thread 1gp per reel at the crafting store in Al Kharid, and you can get cow hide nearby in Lumbridge as well. So the quick trips will build a little money and a faster crafting level.
  • Rouge_Menace - The best way to craft pottery before you can go into crafting guild is this. Mine the clay from the dwarf mines, get water fro the monastery to make soft clay and then craft it at the potters wheel in barbarian village.
